DRAWING + ILLUSTRATION

"I have been drawing things for as long as I can remember. My earliest memory of drawing is of hiding out behind my parents white vinyl couch and using the back of the couch as a canvas for drawing on with markers. I must have been three or four years old, and I guess you could call this secret space my first 'studio'. I vaguely remember drawing people and animals but have no memory of anyone finding my drawings or of me getting into trouble for it. I wonder what happened to that couch, and whether it found new home with its secret drawings intact."

Since then, Michael has continued drawing things. He has had drawings published in numerous books and magazines including the illustrated colour-in books A Day in Hobart and A Day in Melbourne.
